Mixing it up a bit.
Not dead or anything. Things over here have been rather hectic. The Stay at home gardener has been primarily focusing on mundane things such as a 9-5 job. Go figure. :) Worry not. My eventual goal is still to have an adequate parcel, owner-hand built home, and a means to keep myself going. Micro greens at farmers markets perhap?
Now that the weather has grown more mild everything has been flowering again. Number of more peppers are growing. Everything had been held in limbo for a while there. We've been harvesting heaps of heirloom tomatoes. I've been eating okra straight off the bush. Next time I plant out Okra I'll dedicate a dozen or so plants to it in order to get enough at a shot to make whole meals.
A few months ago we planted out two plants of sugar baby watermelons. There is now a dozen of them amongst the vines. They are mature sized, however, when I checked out one a week or so ago it was still white inside. It has me curious whether they will ripen... Any ideas? So far they are all over dark green aside from a patch of yellow on the bottom where it touches the straw mulch. I'm leery sacrificing another one just to check if its becoming red inside.
The jalepenos are more like bell peppers. Really thought it would have been hot enough this year to get a little spice out of them. *shrugs* I'll toss them in soup as a substitution for bells. Hmm... Idea. I'm currently hungry and there is heirloom tomatoes on their way out... eggplants, potatoes, peppers, and leeks etc. SOUP!
Now for the mix up: Here is a music video from an old friend of mine back in Arizona. It came out amazingly well.
