Still Here. Day-dreaming as always.

I am still here everyone. Just enjoying the changing of the season. Getting used to loosing one of my good neighbors to a move to IL.

Mostly I have spent the last few weeks delving into what it'll take me to build a 35' catamaran on this 8500 ft tall mountain top.

It looks feasable to build one within a year or two or three. Then I could be a live-aboard Tiny houser. ;)

  1. I've always dreamed of living on a boat...maybe someday.

    1. With all that farm work... when would you have the time to relax? :)

IDK. I see it that even in my absolutely lazy self state, I seem to keep moving towards these ideas I have. Poof, a little while later, I have a different perspective at having attained them. (Regardless of me doing my darness to be lazy)

Each one leads to a further path. I'd imagine that while one leads to another, for those outside, it appears like a bold jump.

A duplex tiny house boat though sounds fun!

    2. My brother gave me a kayak for my 60th birthday this year...so I do see some "boating" in my future! And a duplex tiny house boat sounds awesome and something I could really see you doing...just to say you did!

    3. Fantastic! I've pondered about using a set of two person kayaks for the dinghies.

  2. Building a boat? On top of a mountain? You don't know something we don't do you? LOL! I think that's so cool. Hey, it never hurts to daydream, after all, daydreaming is what got us the farm, and who knows where else it will someday lead. I don't think we'd ever give up the farm, but who knows what it will become. Or what other side projects we have.

    Dream on Cloud, dream on!

    1. Haha! Yes. I am very apt to build a twin hull, 35ft long, with 40ft mast up here just to wave at the county officials, while on the deck!

Of course, I'd have to transport it to socal, via 18 wheeler. the hulls can be separated along with the deck and cross beams. Just reassemble it at port. Have a crane drop it in water. Then anchor out for a live-aboard life. :)

    2. Although... if you had a dream of sailing, you could drive your boat to a dock much easier than I!

  3. Dream while you are young, Cloud. Don't ever let anyone say "You can't", because if you have it in your heart and your dreams, you can accomplish anything.

Oh, be sure to take on your Catamaran: two potatoes, two tomatoes, 2 lettuces, 2 kale, etc., etc. Oh, and Mr. Pickles!

    1. Hahaha. Carol. Are you suggesting that I become the Noah of the vegetable kingdom?? ;)

Otherwise I am going to need a lot more potatoes and cabbage. (I've been obsessed with colcannon lately)

  4. Welcome back I have missed you. But I was sure you were busy making plans, but I thought garden not boat. You will have to change to "Stay at Home Boater" Ha Ha. We have all known you long enough to be sure that there is not a lazy bone in your body. You may relax from time to time but not lazy. You are too much like Granny, on the go.

  5. My neighbors at the peak of the housing price boom sold everything they owned, bought a 32 foot cat, moved on it and haven't been back since. Good for them.
You can do this also, it's a great life but you'd have to relocate to sea level ;-)

    1. Mike. Your sea level shot made me laugh.

That is quite neat about your neighbors. Guess they got 'lucky' at the right time on that one.

Do you get a postcard at least??

  6. Ah yes, a boat on a mountain sounds useful. ;) As a home away from home, however, it sounds fantastic!

    1. Haha. Crack me up. With the huge winds we get up here, I truly believe I can put it on wheeled skids and sail it to San Diego!

  7. Cloud, The Atlantic has been cold and nasty, of course this is really normal for this time of the year. We have been spoiled by several years of really mild winters and early Spring and Summers. This year has been more what Virginia weather is supposed to be. I am really on the Chesapeake Bay more than the Atlantic, you have to go to Virginia Beach to be truly on the Atlantic. That is only a 20 min. drive away though. Thae Bay offers a bit more sheltered area for boating which I love. I do like to fish the sheltered waters but I throw most of the catch back that way I can catch them again next year. Hope that boat becomes more than a dream they are fun. Till next time.
