Last year after we put our brassicas and lettuces out we experienced several weeks of freezing nights. We thought we'd loose them. They were hardly growing and several leaves died. But when it warmed up they thrived! Yours look much better than ours did. I can't wait to see the results!
If they manage tonight and tomorrow it should be fair smooth sailing. I moved the cloches I had over the first bed of lettuce to the newly planted ones. My reckoning is that the new ones need the protection more so due to not having a couple weeks worth of root growth in the soil whereas the others do. Root health typically is what makes or breaks a plant. Eh. The major worry actually is herbivorous predatory action and not those placed by me! :)

DeleteExperimenting is all part of learning. May they all have good results!
ReplyDeletesurprisingly they survived the 16F. The wind has beaten them up quite a bit. This warm week should straighten them all out though Leigh!
