Long days of summer.

Note : As delicious as Okra is when it gets to six plus inches, it is much better to pick them at half that. Although both sizes are perfect for straight off the plant fresh eating.

First Bells with First Okra (Friday)

  1. One veggie that I should probably learn how to cook is Okra.

@ Cristy : Baingan Bharta is an Indian Dish. Basically a mixture of cooked eggplant and peas in a well seasoned (as all indian dishes have 20 -bajillion spices in them) tomato based sauce. You can add it over rice or eat it with bread. I prefer bread but I had rice available. Pretty simple if you have all the spices otherwise a good cheater spice packet works wonders as well. Do you have an asian/indian grocers near you?
