Winter Wonderland Follow up - Insulation.

1st had a hilarious comment on the previous posting. "I'm dreaming of a white all hallows eve"!

It's catching on to me. *Sings*  :) Spent the afternoon with the neighbor down in the big City. Purchased a house full of insulation. Also purchased a number of concrete backer board sheets to put behind the fireplace, as well as build an indoor shower.

At the moment a third of the insulation is up. I will finish the rest tomorrow. Basically, that is the last major purchase (By cost) for the Tiny House.

The next items are drywall and two additional windows.

Oh, I was happy to see that the in store cost of the insulation was much less than what I had figured online. In turn, the $100 savings (Over previous calculated figures) was re-invested into a few gallons of exterior paint. Saving the difference. Happily. :)

  1. Whew. I know I'll sleep better at nights knowing your insulation is up! ;)

  2. Brrr! The photos of snow have me shivering just thinking about how cold it must be. You will be all snug once the insulation is up.

  3. It's amazing how, even without sheetrock, just having the insulation up makes it look more and more like a house. I too, like other readers, am glad to see you getting that up and who knows, it might be warm enough to not need the heat so often. Great job!!

    1. It really does. I have most of it done aside from the south wall and the ceiling but it warms up faster, and lasts much longer. The fireplace has a much more pronounced effect. That is, I can see the temperature increase a lot faster than when it lacked insulation.
